Weekly Racing Update – New Track Record!

March 25, 2006

Joe Aramendia made a new San Antonio Speedway Late Model track record on Saturday March 25th. He qualified at 18.810 seconds. Then he drew #3 so he started the 40 lap feature on the second row inside. In the first lap he was in second place but a caution came out and they had to restart the race. The race restarts with another caution. Then on the third start of the race it stays green through the first lap and on the second lap Joe gets around Reininger and leads the rest of the race. At the halfway point of the race Joe had a full straight away lead over Justin Oates (#0), Reininger (#3), Danny Garcia (#97), and Robert Barker (#17). With 2 laps to go in the race Garcia spins causing a caution. On the restart Oates spins out coming out of turn two. After one more caution and one more restart Joe wins the race with Reininger and Barker close in tow.

Brian Moczygemba qualified well in 6th and drew #2 and started on the front row outside. In the beginning of the race “B” was holding onto 4th place. But, then about 10 laps into the race he felt his right front tire was going down so he came into the pits to change the tire. During the tire change he went down a lap. “B” finished the race in 9th place.
